Have you gotten out and made any fresh tracks this past weekend, there?

We are happy to continue keeping you up to date on what’s going on at Whistler Nordics, read on for important event information, member perks, where we could use a hand, and a great ski tip for you at the end!

Great news: After a cool snap in the valley, all programs are on this week! Please keep an eye on your inbox for notices from the program lead. 

This year there are some changes to how and when you register for Toonie ski events! You MUST register online by 11:59PM the day before the event. If you haven’t registered yet for our first event coming up on Thursday - secure your spot through the button below!

Some other important details you need to know for the Toonie Ski Series:

  • Choose your own adventure, while there are a few racers who like to compete there are many recreational skiers and families who are out for a fun ski.

  • Headlamp mandatory!

  • Arrive by 6:15, Start at 6:30. No registration on site.

  • These are fun, weekly, social affairs, great exercise, a chance to connect with others - there are prizes, food and drinks!

Mark Your Calendars!

This will be sure to be a great community event at the Whistler Museum β€œValley Glides - A History of Nordic Skiing in Whistler” on Monday February 5th - tickets available at the door from 6:30PM with cash or card, the event starts at 7:00PM. Tea, coffee and treats will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Two sentence bio: Dan’s introduction to nordic skiing in Whistler started on a Wild Willy’s Monday night try it out night about 25 years ago. Dan loves the social aspect of Whistler Nordics as much as the skiing.  Dan lives in Whistler still with Tracy and two teenage boys Holden and Cole. 

Favourite trail at Lost Lake/WOP: Lower Fairway/Biathlon 4.5km loop

Preference for classic in fresh snow or skate on speedy hard-pack: Classic all the way. :)

2023 TECK COAST CUP #3 REMINDER

Teck Coast Cup #3 is happening this Saturday, January 20th at Whistler Olympic Park! See the full race notice here. This race is a relay and designed to appeal to racers of all levels, from children and their parents just starting out, to advanced racers! Even if participating in the race isn’t for you this time, come on out to spectate, cheer, and if volunteering sounds like a good option, read on below!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TECK COAST CUP #3

No experience is needed and many volunteers are required for events like these! It’s a great opportunity to give back to the sport, encourage the racers and spend time with other Cross Country Ski enthusiasts! You’ll be provided with lunch, snacks, hot drinks, and a ticket to Whistler Olympic Park if needed, half and full day slots are available.
