Prerequisite:  ICC training (the ICC Workshop!), enthusiasm and a minimum age of 14 years are the only prerequisites. Please ensure you have met ALL the prerequisites before registration.

STEP #2: Community Coaching (CC) Workshop (16 hrs).  This is the second step in the NCCP coach education program. It provides essential training for coaches delivering skill development programs to children six to nine years of age (the “FUNdamentals” stage of athlete development). This program is designed to train coaches to teach children technical skills, select games that reinforce the technical skill being taught, design and lead on-snow sessions, select and prepare equipment for young children, and make learning FUN. This workshop includes on-snow sessions.

NCCP Learn to Train On-Snow Workshop : 23-25 November, 2012

Sun 25 Nov: Whistler Olympic Park 9am-4pm
         

The “L2T” program provides tools and develops skills that a coach can use to (1) create a fun team oriented environment that will motivate skiers to achieve their personal goals in sport, and develop a lifelong interest in the fitness and health benefits of cross-country skiing: (2) effectively teach intermediate and then advanced technique; and (3) as appropriate, according to age, teach skiers in the areas of physical, mental and technical training.

The “L2T-On-Snow” program is the second half of the L2T program and the fourth step in the NCCP progression. This course includes On-Snow sessions. Prerequisites: Community Coach Certified and the CCI-L2T-Dryland Workshop.

16 hours.The fee is $95.00 per person (for CCBC members) and $110.00 per person for (non-members)

This workshop provides essential training for coaches delivering effective skill development programs for children six to nine years of age (the FUNdamentals stage of skier development).  ICC training (the ICC Workshop!), enthusiasm and a minimum age of 14 years are the only prerequisites.

This program is designed to train coaches to teach children technical skills, to select games that reinforce the technical skill being taught to design and lead on-snow sessions, to select and prepare equipment for young children, and to make learning FUN. The workshop includes on-snow sessions.
